Toilet Twinning

Toilet twinning is a new and unique way of supporting people for whom good, clean, safe sanitation is a luxury - not a given.

CORD (http://www.cord.org.uk/) is working to improve water and sanitation in war torn Burundi. In the past year they’ve helped local people there to build 870 latrines, each benefiting family of six.

That’s 5,220 people who can now go to the loo in a safe, private and hygienic way! They are planning to double that number.

I just twinned my downstairs loo with a loo in Burundi, it cost me £60 and for that I got
a framed certificate to hang in my loo with;Twinning Certificate
  • the unique number of the latrine
  • it's location in Burundi and...
  • the exact grid-reference so I can look it up on Google Earth

What a great idea!!
